you probably know about the weather effects of sunny day and rain dance, plus sandstorm and hail. here are a couple extra facts:
in bright sunlight:
- fire moves get boosted by 50% (duh)
- water moves get lowered by 50% (duh)
- solarbeam needs no recharge
- thunder's accuracy drops to a dismal 50%
- synthesis, morning sun and moonlight (believe it or not, its true) heals to full
- all pokemon on the field get defrosted at the end of each turn
- pokemon with the ability 'chlorophyll' have their speed doubled
- pokemon with the 'forecast' ability (just castform) become a water type and change their appearance. hey wait a second! what if you skill swap forecast onto something and use a weather move? i gotta see this happen...
- the move weather ball becomes a fire attack and doubles in power
bright sunlight can be triggered by the move sunny day OR by groudon's ability, drought.
in a downpour:
- water moves get boosted 50% (duh)
- fire moves get lowered 50% (duh)
- solarbeam, while it still has the one-turn recharge, has its power cut in two.
- thunder's accuracy is raised to 100%
- synthesis, morning sun and moonlight heal only 25% (untested!)
- pokemon with the ability 'swift swim' get their speed doubled
- pokemon with the ability 'rain dish' recover 1/16 of their max health at the end of each turn
- pokemon with the forecast ability (just castform) become a water type and change their appearance
- the move weather ball becomes a water attack and doubles in power
rain can be triggered by the move rain dance OR by kyogre's ability, drizzle.
in a sandstorm:
- all pokemon except for rock, ground and steel types lose 1/16 of their max HP after each turn
- the move weather ball becomes a rock attack and doubles in power. shame that castform doesn't have a 'sand' form.
- pokemon with the sand veil ability gain a small amount of evasion (just as much as if you used one double team).
a sandstorm can be triggered by the move sandstorm (duh) OR by tyranitrar's ability, sand stream.
in hail:
- all pokemon except ice types lose 1/16 of their max health at the end of each turn
- the move weather ball becomes an ice attack and doubles in power
- pokemon with the forecast ability (just castform) become and ice pokemon and change their appearance.
- i THOUGHT blizzard's accuracy would become 100%, but apparently it doesnt, so yeah.
hail can only be triggered by the move hail.
well, thats all i can think of as far as weather effects go. have fun! |
