You can earn a Golden Fishing Pole by catching at least one of each fish. Once you have caught one of each fish you need to find a "shiny spot". Dig a hole with your shovel and then plant a Fishing Rod. This should produce a sapling which will eventually mature. Just wait for it to grow and then pick off your Golden Fishing Rod.
