I dont know why people spend all there good TM's on pokemon they dont use like my freind taught his Aerodactl dragon claw and then he tossed him aside.

The pokemon I used to beat the elite four the first time was:
Arcanine lv.60
Zapdos lv.63
Alakazam lv.61
lapras lv.63
Machamp lv.62
Golem lv.61
I ditched my Blastoise!
Anyways once you have a pokemon stonger than your starter and it's the same type ditch your starter you wont need it anymore

MY team against the elite four are as thus:
Zapdos
Charizard (he is DA BEST!!)
Gengar
Vaporeon
Sandslash
<your choice> (i put in hitmonlee but it never got used)
and they were NOT level 60-70, they were just like level 45-55. i needed a lot of hyper potions and full restores and all, though. But i managed with only one legendary!
also, i taught vaporeon ice beam so that i could use it against Lance the dragon master.
