MEGA MAN X WALKTHROUGH

Ok, you need help with this really hard, but addictively good Capcom game? Cool, that's what I thought.
Mega Man X is a classic and a good one at that. I still love my SNES and we share hours together,playing all the other classics.......good times.
NOTE:This is my walkthrough and is a reference. Do not copy my walkthrough, call it your own,etc..
All of the characters mentioned in this walkthrough are not my creation and are copy-righted by
their creators or whatever. You may not take parts of this walkthrough. You may only take this

The Highway
This is the first level of the game, run, shoot, jump....
Boss: Vile
Weakness: None
You can't beat him so don't try. He will bash you up and paralyse you but Zero saves the day and you get off. You are
encouraged by Zero to strengthen up to fight Sigma and you both leave.
Note: Do these stages in any order you want!!
$$The Powerplant$$
Boss: Spark Mandrill
Sideboss: Generator thing
Subtank:yes
Hearttank:yes
Upgrade Capsule:No
Subtank: You need to have the boomerang cutter. From the beginning of the level, go up a ladder and then down the next. Run
as far right as possible. Throw a boomerang at the top of a jump to get the tank.
Hearttank: You need either the boomerang cutter or the acceleration system(from chill penguin's lair). Go through the stage
as normal, but when you encounter the first giant turtle, kill it and wall climb up the wall on the right to see the tank.
Use the boomerang cutter to get it or kick off the wall while holding down A to jump to the left. In the middle of the jump,
press right and you will be able to kick up to the tank.
Generator: Half way through the level, you will be attacked by a machine that looks like a generator. It releases globs of
fluid that prevent you from moving for a few seconds. While you are stuck, it will float above you and try to zap you.
Every now and again, he comes down to the ground. If you only have the X-Buster, this is the time to blast him. I recommend
that you use Homing Torpedoes( From Launch Octopus) because they allow you to attack him while he is floating and they are
very powerful against him. When he bounces, the acceleration system shid comes in handy!
SPARK MANDRILL
Weakness: Shotgun Ice (from chill penguin)
Weapon received:Electric Spark( Use on Armored Armadilo)
This boss isn't extremely hard but he is a challenge, UNLESS, you have shotgun ice. If you shoot him with your shotgun, he
will instantly freeze, for 2 seconds. As soon as he breaks free, freeze him again. Using this method, you can defeat him
without being touched.
$$The Mines$$
Boss: Armored Armadilo
Sideboss: Tunneling machine x 2
Hearttanks:yes
Subtanks:yes
Upgrade capsule:yes
Hearttank: When you are running behind the 2nd tunneling machine, kill it before it reaches he ledge with the hearttank on
it and you should be able to climb to it.
Subtank: When you are about to drop down to the first tunneling machine, jump off, touch the ground( to start the machine)
and quickly wall climb back up. the tunneling machine should leave without you. Now jump down and enter the place where the
tunneling machine was, run to the left and grab the tank.
Upgrade Capsule: The Hadoken is the hardest weapon in the game to get and is not remembered in passwords.After you have
beat every boss, bot every sub tank, every hearttank and every upgrade, return to this stage.When you reach the last mine
cart, jump off at the end and wall climb to reach the energy. then jump off and die. repeat this 4 times and on the 5th,
the capsule will be there. To perform the Hadoken, press down forward and Y. It can only be performed while you
are at full health.
ARMORED ARMADILO
Weakness: Electric Spark (from Spark Mandrill)
Weapon received: Rolling Shield (Use on Launch Octopus)
A challenging boss, he shoots balls at you from his head. He can also roll into a ball and start smashing around the place.
His weakness will strip him off his armor. Once his armor is gone, you can shoot him while he is rolling and your
attacks will do more damage. (especially Electric Spark). Without the electric spark, he is hard. if you jump up into a
corner, he will roll and hurt you. If you charge up your X-Buster, he will absorb the power and scatter in around him,
hurting you. Just time your jumps up and down the wall. Only shoot him when he isn't rolling.
NOTE: Don't bother charging up your X-Buster while he still has his armor, it does the same damage charged or not.
$$The Ocean$$
Boss: Launch Octopus
Sideboss: 2 water dragons
Hearttank:yes
Subtanks:No
Upgrade Capsule:no
Hearttank: When you reach the part of the level where you can get lifted up by the tornadoes,
try all of them because one of them takes you to a ship. Jump onto the boat and you will see a
blue light. Keep shooting the light and eventually the ship will sink, taking you below the
ocean floor. Go right and you will have to kill a water dragon (see below). After killing the
dragon, run to the right and collect the tank.
Sideboss: Dragons, just fire when they come near. For daredevils, jump on their backs and
shoot them in the back of their heads.
LAUNCH OCTOPUS
Weakness: Rolling Shield (From Armored Armadilo)
Weapon Received: Homing Torpedoes (Use on Boomer Kuwanger)
Not too hard. Just shoot lots of rolling shields at him. He shoots rockets at you and if he
catches you, he will drain some of your energy.Without the Rolling Shield, Charge your X-Buster
up and shoot him a hell of a lot. SKidding avoids energy drain.
$$The Lighthouse$$
Boss:Boomer Kuwanger
Hearttanks:yes
Subtanks:no
Upgrade Capsule:No
Hearttank: This tank isn't really hidden, but if you can't find it, i'll just have to tell you.
You will start the stage inside the tower, you exit and keep climbing. When you re-enter the
tower, it is above the entrance. You can throw the boomerang cutter if you have alrady completed
this stage, or you can fully charge up your ice shotgun(After buster upgrade) and ride the ice
sled off the edge. Jump off before you fall with it.
BOOMER KUWANGER
Weakness: Homing torpedoes (from Launch Octopus)
Weapon Received: Boomerang Cutter (Use on Sting Chameleon)
This guy is really hard without homing torpedoes, nearly impossible. Get Homing torpedoes and
jump to the top left corner, firing them one at a time.If you don't have Homing Torpedoes, Use
your Skidding ability (from Chill Penguin's Lair) as much as possible, it's going to be a long
battle.
$$The Forest$$
Boss:Sting Chameleon
Sideboss: Green Dude
Hearttanks:yes
subtanks:no
Upgrade Capsule:yes
hearttank: Go through the stage as normal. Just as you are about to enter the cave with the
falling rocks, jump down the hole and destroy the blocks by wall climbing on them. The tank
is to the right, it will require the Skidding ability from Chill Penguins lair.
Upgrade Capsule:Go through the stage as normal. Just as you are about to enter the cave with the
falling rocks, skid jump up to the right and wall climb up to the top. Run to the right and
defeat the sideboss.(see below) A capsule will appear and Light will upgrade your armor.
Sideboss: Hard, You can only hit him in the head. shid from side to side, shooting him in
between his jumps.
STING CHAMELEON
Weakness: Boomerang Cutter (from Boomer Kuwanger)
Weapon received: Chameleon Sting
This guy isn't nice. He licks you ( he might be michael Jackson in disguise), Swings Leaves at
you with his tail and shakes the place so that spikes fall on you. When he appears, throw a
boomerang at him. No boomerang? Wall Climb (not all the way to the top) and charge your
X-Buster. Blast him when he appears.
$$The Airport$$
Boss: Storm Eagle
Hearttanks:yes
Subtanks:yes
Upgrade Capsule:yes
hearttank: At the beginning of the level, ride the platforms to the top and skid jump to the left
(hold down left). You should land next to it.
Subtank: Go through the level as normal. When you reach the cannon on the elevator
(a cannon, not a flamethrower), destroy the cannon and jump on the elevator. Ride to the top,
break the glass to your right with any shot and jump into the tower. Run to the other side of
the tower and the tank is there.
Upgrade Capsule: After the area with Vertical moving platforms(with flamethrowers) there will
be a tall, narrow metal structure in your way. Wall climb over it and slide around halfway down
the other side. jump of the structure to the right and you will land next to some metal
containers that say DA on them (they also have the flammable symbol on them). Blow them up with
lots of shots and enter to find a capsule.
STORM EAGLE
Weakness: Chameleon Sting (from Sting chameleon)
Weapon received: Storm tornado
He isn't that hard at all. He tries to swoop you, blow you off the plane and attack you with
his eggs.(!?!?!?) The Chameleon Sting makes it sinch but the X-Buster is pretty easy too. Don't
try to shoot him while he is swooping, just use the Skidding ability (from chill penguins lair)
to dodge him.
$$The Factory$$
Boss: Flame Mammoth
Hearttanks:yes
subtanks:yes
Upgrade Capsule:yes
Hearttank: You need to have defeated chill penguin to get it. You can also get it if you have
defeated Sting Chameleon and have the buster upgrade. The first way is easier. go to the part
of the stage where miners throws axes at you. jump down to where the larva should be.
(it dissappears when you beat chill penguin) Run all the way to the right and it should be
there.
Subtank:At the same place, make your way to the most upper left platform and skid jump to the
left as far as possible. kick the blocks away and take the tank.
Upgrade Capsule: You need the headbutt ability for your helmet (From Storm Eagles Lair) At the
same place, get on the first platform and skidjump to the left as far as possible. Kick and
headbutt your way up to the capsule.
FLAME MAMMOTH
Weakness: Storm tornado (from Storm Eagle)
Weapon Received: Fire wave (Use on Chill Penguin)
Fairly easy. Stand right in front of him, on his foot, and he can't shoot the globs of tar at
you. Just stand there and blast him.
$$Frozen Mountain$$
Boss: Chill Penguin
Hearttank:yes
subtank:no
Upgrade capsule:yes
Hearttank: After you exit the carrier, climb the wall to your right and skid jump to the left
onto the platform. Use firewave on each of the huts, one contains the heart.
Upgrade Capsule: Just go through the level as normal, you will see it. You can't finish the
level without it.
$$$$$$$$$$SIGMA SITE #1$$$$$$$$$$
You will talk to zero and go through it as a normal level, but you will have to fight clones
of the bosses over 3 stages.
Boss #1 -Vile
weakness:Homing Torpedo (from Launch Octopus)
Vile has captured Zero and you'll have to fight him, don't try. You can't beat him and you
will just waste your energy. Zero will sacrifice himself to help you, destroying Viles carrier.
Now you have to fight Vile Again.
Boss #2 -Boomer Kuwanger

Weakness: Shotgun Ice (from Chill Penguin)
When it comes down and it's eye opens, shoot it. Watch out for the babies!

weakness: Chameleon Sting And Homing Torpedoes
Shoot the eyes when they open. When the walls close in, stay off the floor. Switch to homing
torpedoes and attack the nose.

Don't let the bottom part crush you against a wall, it does massive damage.Fire Boomerangs
at it's head and wall climg to the top left corner to avoid being shot.

Panic......ALOT! Make sure your tanks are full, and you have everything, including the Hadoken.
Boss #1 -Sigma's Dog
Weakness:Shotgun Ice (from Chill Penguin)
You can kill the dog straight away with the Hadoken, or you can waste time and health with the
shotgun. Just dodge and fire.
Boss #2 -Sigma
Weakness: Electric Spark (From Spark Mandrill)
Once again, use Hadoken for a 1-hit kill. With the electric spark? Wall climb, when he follows
you, count 6 of his jumps and let yourself fall. Blast and repeat!
Boss #3 -Sigma Machine
Weakness:Rolling Shield
But wait, there's more!
99% impossible. Jump onto the edge of a claw so that you don't get zapped and fire rolling
shields at the head. My personal method is to fully charge Chameleon Sting so i can't get
hurt, and position myself on a claw, THEN, i blast him with rolling Shields.
