A legit and annoying technique is edge guarding. When you knock someone off the map and they are falling towards the edge you can carefully move until you grab the ledge. Since only one person can grab the ledge at a time your opponent will fall off. Don't use this against Zero-Suit Samus because her whip will knock you off the edge and grab onto the edge.
