Items you'll need:
Diamond Pickaxe (to mine Obsidian)
14 Obsidian Blocks
Flint and Steel (use 1 Iron Ingot and 1 Flint to create this item)
Crafting Bench
2 Water Sources
20+ Building Material Blocks of your choice
1 of any item you want to duplicate
First, build a Nether Portal.
Second, build a 1 tall x 7 long x 2 wide canal behind the portal.
Third, remove one block about 5 blocks away from the Nether Portal from one side of the canal and place a workbench where the block was.
Fourth, place 2 water sources at the end of the canal opposite of the Nether Portal.
Fifth, activate the Nether Portal using the Flint and Steel tool.
To dupe an item, stand at the end of the canal where you placed the water sources and activate the Crafting Table. Place the desired item into the Crafting Grid. At this point, the water will push you into the Portal. It's important to not exit the menu yourself. Once you're in the portal, the Crafting Screen will disappear and you'll see the item you placed inside the Crafting Grid drop onto the floor in front of you. At this point, step out of the portal and pick up your item. When you've picked it up, open your inventory and right click on your item. You will see the item picked up as normal, but a 2nd "copy" of the item will be below your cursor. That item is your duped item. Place the non-duped item anywhere in your inventory and left-click on the duped item. Now right click anywhere in your inventory and you'll see the item increase by 1 with every right-click. You can store the duped item in a chest for later use if you wish. When you're satisfied, step away from the Nether Portal and go about your business. Happy cheating! (Note: You'll still see a "permanent" copy of your item that won’t go away when you pick it up. That item is the duped item and will remain there for either 5 minutes and disappear, or use Flint and Steel to burn and destroy the item.) (Also note that this does not work in Multiplayer.
Enjoy!
