To defeat a spider, brute, or houdini splicer just use winters blast or electro bolt on them and hit them with your drill, just be sure you keep zapping or freezing them in the process or else the plasmid will wear off. This trick also works to defeat big daddys or sisters just make sure you only use winters blast.
