While in a duel, hold Z to block and swing the Wii-mote up and down repeatedly until you win. You will block your opponent's hits. When your swing is timed correctly, you will counterstrike a powerful blow. When in duels, your stamina does not decrease so you can hold Z as long as desired. If done correctly, you will not lose any health.
