You should get a Geodude at Dewford early in the game, when you are trying to give Steven his mail. When you get to Slateport, go up to the grass and get him to level 25. It should know at least one Ground move, one Rock move, and some others. After you defeat Team Magma/Aqua, go to Mauville (defeat May/Brendon) and challenge Wattson, the gym leader, immediately. Keep using Magnatude to win. Geodude is also a good choice because it is strong against the next three gym leaders; Flannery (Fire leader), Norman (Normal leader; your dad), and Wiona (Flying leader). |
