As you should already know, the move toxic induces a poison that increases in strength each turn.
to be exact, it starts out by taking off 1/16 of the opponent's max HP, then 2/16, then 3/16, then 4/16 etc. (except that in the newer versions of pokemon it goes 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, and finally a 1-hit-KO, if the opponent survives that long).
if you use toxic then use wrap, bind, clamp, or fire spin ('multi-turn' attacks), the poison activates and gains power at the end of each 'its attack continues!'. this way, you can quickly destroy anything other than poison types (which cant be poisoned, though they are damaged by poison type attacks like sludge). very useful against computer players or slightly dim human players that dont switch out when toxiced (when you switch out, toxic becomes regular poisoning, though it stays as toxic in the newer versions of pokemon, Ruby/sapphire/fire red/leaf green/emerald).
if you toxic, then leech seed, leech seed's power increases as toxic's power increases. but this attack combo is nowhere near invincible. if the opponent switches out, leech seed disappears and toxic returns to normal poisoning. |
