Get A Ditto/mew With Any Move :
Smeargle can learn ANY move in the world. Hold on a second! it is not compatible with ANY TM or HM! how can it learn any move?
Smeargle's signature move is sketch. when it uses it, the move 'sketch' will be permanently replaced with another move, the one that was used on him last.
What's that? you know that already?
but heres the cheat: if you transform into smeargle (the move transform is available to ONLY ditto and mew) then you can sketch whatever move you want. you wanna have a super fang (always removes 50% health) on mew? go to a link battle, tranform into smeargle, then sketch the move.
would you like to have spore (100% accuracy, induces sleep) on a ditto, perhaps? set up a safeguard (so ditto doesn't fall asleep from spore) then transform into smeargle and sketch the move! (except, i think you have to trade into stadium 2 or something in order to get that move again)

Restart your game and play until you get HM02 Fly from the house west of Celadon City (or just beat the third gym and get the badge that lets you use fly out of battle and trade pokemon that know fly to the new game).
IMPORTANT!!: DO NOT fight the following trainers:
The Youngster with a Slowpoke (level 17) on the road to Bill's house(Route 25). He is the fourth trainer after you cross Nugget Bridge, standing directly above a female trainer and facing north.
The Gambler with two poliwags and a poliwhirl (all level 22) between Lavender Town and Saffron City (Route 8). He is standing just east of the entrance to Saffron City, facing north toward the door of the Underground Path. Care fully follow the series of steps illustrated below...
Make sure you have a pokemon that knows FLY. Make sure you have a level 5 or 6 pokemon and a pokemon that knows SLEEP on your team. Stock up with pokeballs (Great Balls work the best). Now Save your game before you enter Route 8 since saving after this point will disrupt the procedure.
On Route 8, stand in front of the door of the Underground Path (don't let the gambler see you or you will need to restart where you last saved). Walk down one step and IMMEDIATELY press start. If you succeed, the menu will pop up before the Gambler "sees" you. Go to the Pokemon list and fly to Cerulean City. The Gambler will see you just before you fly away. Your Start button will no longer function. Go north across Nugget Bridge and head east until you find the Youngster described above.
If you walk right up to the Youngster, the game will lock up, so you'll have to let him see you and walk up to you. Defeat his Slowpoke(afterwards your start button will work again), then fly to Lavender Town. Head west into Route 8. As soon as you enter the narrow path, the menu will pop up by itself. Press B to exit. . . and a wild Mew should appear. Mew will be at Level 7 and its only attack will be Pound. Get'em! Once you've caught Mew, you can save without any ill effects!

mew learns transform at lv. 10. and it learns metronome at lv. 30... can anyone tell me what happens when yours metronomed sketch...?
one more thing. if you mimic sketch, is mimic replaced by the move that was sketch? |

OK... one LAST update. the sketch thing DOES NOT WORK over link battle, but it DOES WORK if the battle takes place in trainer house, viridian city.
to alter the trainer you fight at trainer house, use mystery gift (go to goldenrod mart on the floor where you buy TMs, i think. there is a girl who talks about mystery gift and afterwards you get the option of mystery gift below 'new game'). the trainer you mystery gift with will replace 'Trainer CAL' (the default computer trianer who has all three starters in their last stage). The trainer is controlled by the computer.
now here is what your friend's team should be:
Smeargle, level at least 11, but make sure mew is a higher level - sketch, fissure
Any pokemon - the move you want to sketch (but delete all its other moves)
SAVE before the battle. now, get mew to transform into smeargle. then, since fissure will not effect any pokemon of a level higher than the user, the smeargle will not be able to hurt you, yet you may be able to one-hit-KO it! (but you have to SAVE before because it has horrible accuracy and if you run out of PP you need to try again)
next, the trainer will send out the other pokemon (the one with the move you want to sketch). if the other pokemon is faster than you, use sketch. if the pokemon is slower than you, use fissure and hope it misses. then use sketch. after that, just keep using fissure until the opponent is killed. if you run out of pp before that happens, go back to your last save file.
this is how i FINALLY managed to get spore onto mew!

Umm, are you saying the Mew trick doesn't work? Because it does...also if you try it with different trainers above Nugget Bridge you get others (I got a Level 7 Nidoqueen, beleive it or not, it knew Tackle, Scratch, Body Slam, and Tail Whip, I think.)
