First, trade a shiny into pokemon red/blue/yellow (usually red gyrados). now, teach it mimic. go against a wild ditto. it transforms into your pokemon. mimic transform.
then use transform. with luck, it will transform into you again. now catch it! trade it to Gold/Silver/Crystal and you have a shiny ditto (its blue). when you breed shinies, the egg has a higher chance of being shiny.
SO, you can use shiny ditto to get almost any shiny pokemon you want. but you need to hatch like 15 eggs before you find a shiny. sometimes more. but if you are really determined to get (say) a shiny noctowl or something, then a few eggs wouldn't daunt you...
PS i think its like a 1/20 chance of the egg being a shiny. which is a significantly higher than the 1/8,000 or so chance of you finding one normally. and even if you've seen 8,000 or so pokemon, its still 1/8,000 chance of you finding one. |
