Trading Into Other Games: The Benefits :
if you miss being able to duplicate pokemon, just trade in the leaf green pokemon into gold and silver and duplicate your heart out!
most people know that in Gold/silver you can duplicate pokemon - with bill's PC (you need 2 empty boxes. Save in front of computer. deposit pokemon in box, then switch boxes. when it says, Saving...DON'T TURN OFF turn it off. if done correctly, the pokemon will be in your party and in the box. if done incorrectly, the pokemon is likely to be deleted and lost forever.)
you can also duplicate in pokemon red/blue.
(To duplicate pokemon by trading between any 2 pokemon games you get a good pokemon that you wanna duplicate on one of the game boys and a crappy pokemon on the other. Go to the trading center, and let the person with the pokemon to be duplicated talk to the lady first. Do the trade and when EACH GameBoy says waiting, turn off the GameBoy that had the good pokemon. Then wait a few seconds until the other GameBoy says "trade completed" then you shut that one off. If "trade completed" doesnt show up then you did it wrong.)
Also, trading can get you all three starters. heres how:
first, get one of the starters and trade it off into another game. then start a new game and trade another starter into the same game (or different one whatever). then get the last starter and catch 2 useless pokemon. trade the other starters back into your game and vóila! all three starters! (PS i reccommend you get charmander last so your rival choses Blastoise, the one with the worst stats)
to Completely fill in your pokedex, trading is essential. there are many pokemon that cannot be caught in pokemon leaf green so you'll have to trade them in. also, there are pokemon that only evolve by trading:
-Machoke
-Kadabra
-Haunter
-Graveller
and others evolve by trading with item:
-Seadra (with dragon scale)
-porygon (with upgrade)
-Poliwhirl (with king's rock)
-Slowpoke (with king's rock)
-onix (with metal coat)
-Scyther (with metal coat, but i wonder why you would do that? scyther actually has better stats than scizor and if you don't believe me go to www.pokemon.com and find out for yourself on their pokedex)

you have to get the ruby and saphire plates and get that machine working on one of the first sevii
islands. then u can trade to r/s at any pkmn center

You need to trade an eevee that likes you during day (according to S/R) for Espeon and night for Umbreon.

Excuse my double posting, but you can trade between R/S and FR/LG as long as FR/LG has got the national dex - a dex you receive after defeating the elite4 and have 60 or more pokemon in the pokedex - then you can trade.
and lizard, too bad you cant win against them, but do you have the VS seeker? you get it in the Vermillion city pokecenter and it allows you to rebattle anywhere that you can fly in (NOT in caves, gyms etc.) after you use it once (i recommend you do it at the sevii islands) you need to walk 100 steps before the battery recharges (if you think thats alot wait till you hear how long it takes for eggs to hatch)
and also, please post your team lizard! then i can make reccommendations!

Sorry! i was really bored that day and forgot that you cant trade between R/S/FR/LG and R/B/Y/G/S/C
Plus, scizor DOES have better stats than scyther, the info at www.pokemon.com was just faulty. And sorry i was hard on those rare blastoise fans, once again, i was using the info from www.pokemon.com which was faulty.
if you want to know a pokemon's REAL base stats (the lowest possible you can get at lv100), then go to www.serebii.net and check out their R/S/FR/LG pokedex.

i used the game link through my game cube on pokemon collesseum,if you have it go to phenak city poke centre and go down stairs, you have to trade to the game cube first then pass them on to the next game.but if you dont have a game cube with collesseum then use a link cable to link 2 game boys if youve been using a wireless adaptor or if you ve been using a link cable then use the adaptor.
